WHAT I'VE BEEN UP (DOWN) TO ~

A week ago today, I had some very minor surgery on both feet ~ so I've taken advantage of my gimpy-ness ~ and have watched all three seasons of Downton Abbey for the first time.

Wow.

Now I know what all the fuss is about!

NB ~ have no worries ~ I will post NO spoilers here.

I'm not sure why I didn't get hooked in the first place...  Anglophile that I am!
And that particular time period is one of my favorites ~ there were so many new things happening so quickly!

And can you say "SteamPunk"?!?!?!?!

Now that I've watched it all in one big gulp, I'll go back and watch  (sip) it more slowly, to savor the cinematography, costumes and scenery.

What a joy!!

My favorite line is, of course, "What are weekends??"  Miss Smith is at her finest  here ~

If you've been following the show, I'd love to hear your comments about it...
All I ask is that if you comment, please do NOT include any spoilers...  I'm afraid I would have to delete them right away ~  Thanks

PS ~ the new love of my life is Hugh Bonneville!

Loved Downton Abbey though I have not seen it in its entirety but in bits and pieces. Did you get it on Netflix or how?

I would like to do what you did and spend a day going from start to finish. Those lovely Brits really know how to do thigs right.

Maggie Smith is just warming up in the third series, I can't wait for more. My favorite line is "Yes, but it was an hour every day" when discussing her parenting with cousin Isobel. They come so fast sometimes though, I think if I rewatxhes the series I would discover many more reasons to love the Dowager Countess.

I adore the series and can't wait for the new season to start. I love everything Masterpiece Theater.
I am now hooked on Call the Midwife!
It's a cold one here today so I am sitting by the fire and doing absolutely nothing :) I hope all is well over there in Eagle!

I too am an Anglophile who came late to the table with Downton Abbey. The main reason is we don't own a TV, by choice. We rarely take the time to just sit, but everyone in blogland was going on about it. I binged on all three seasons over a month period and LOVED it. I think I need to go back and watch it again slowly. My maiden name was Bates so I loved him, but also his kindness and of course Anna. I can't believe that I came to like Thomas.

I am new to your blog, but I will be back to explore because I love Pooh.

I am sorry to hear about your feet - hope you are feeling better!

Now Downton Abbey - LOVE IT! I also watched all the episode in a week or two. It drove the hubby crazy : ) Ah the clothes!!

Interestingly...my British friends snub the show!!! Two of their fav are Parades End and Call the Midwife...which I bet you as a nurse will like I have not started either one...but plan to
