Here is my Sept. DIVAs project. I got the idea from a Somerset magazine article and ran with it. The object is to use your security envelope liners to create shapes and textures.
Each of the squares is based on a 6 x 6 canvas background.
Sorry, but these weren't set up right to enlarge, and I don't feel like rewriting all the words!
In this first one, I did a simple background with 1/2 inch strips, all meeting in the center. Then I decided to play with some dies, and this is what I came up with. Other than being slightly off-center, I was happy with it.
The ship was hand cut from a grey/white liner and tinted with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Same for the sun. The whale is clip art. The masts are toothpicks,stained with TH DI.
This was the very first one I made {ocean themed, of course!} ~ the wavy blue liner makes a perfect ocean background! I only wish I'd done the "seaweeds" on the left in black & white rather than grey & white.
My DIVAs friend Debbie did this beauty using TH DI to color the hollycocks reds.

Fantastic idea, dear (((((bbbbb))))) That first one looks like a patchwork quilt - very stunning, and I love the sea in the second one, but seahorses are my favourite! Debbie's are lovely as well, particularly the tree branches.
I can't for the life of me figure out what a security envelope is.

Carol ~ look insides the envelopes your bills come in; they will almost always have some kind of color design on the insides, to help keep what is inside private. Also look inside the envelopes you are sent to send payments in... more designs!
Check the insides of ANYthing you get in the mail!!!
You girls creations are lovely bobbie! I would have never known the first one was off center my dear. I love them all!
