My Summer Project ~

For my summer project this year,  I decided to work on my first Tim Holtz small Collection Folio... I had had some for a couple of years, and decided it was time to get one done!!
It was a lot of work, but I had a blast working on it!!
For those of you not familiar, the first 2 pix are of the Folio as it comes out of the package ~ very plain. Overall size is 8 7/8" H by 7 1/4W ~ the depth will depend on your embellishments on the insides. Mine is 1" deep.
As always, click to biggify the pix.

Below is the 'guts' of the Folio; kind of hard to see, but this is the part that makes up the waterfall pages of the interior. Exciting, eh?!?! You can see the edges if you look closely on the R side.

My finished cover ~ all of the papers used through-out the Folio are from Tim's "Wallflower" collection. I love the soft dreamy colors ~

A sideways look at the cover to show the depth of the flowers...

A Tim word band highlighted with white paint. And a lesson learned ~ in the future, I will do away with the black elastic band that comes with the Folio. Reason ~ as soon as you begin to work with it, it begins to lose it's elasticity, and twists itself impossibly!
Instead, I will attach ribbon or something similar to the front and back covers before I add the decorative papers, to use as ties.

Tim hardware...

Book title...

First page you open to... I added a fold-out page to the inside front cover (left side)...

And below is the interior of that fold out...
All the pictures in the Folio are 'pull-out-able', with my made-up stories on the back of them.
The pictures are ones I've collected over the last 15 years or so ~ none of them are real family.

Left picture pulls out ~ the ones on the right flip up for their stories...

The top picture on the left is in honor of my Mom, who lost a baby very young in the days before even Sulfa.

A double page spread... the writing on the back of the left picture is detailed next...

I Goggled this lady ~ she was real, and the story is a synopsis of her real life!

Miss Kitty Gordon

Another double pager...  the story I came up with for the photo on the left is one of my favorites! I titled it "The Sad Children", and perhaps one day I will reveal it!
The picture on the right, of the school teacher, is in honor of my 3rd grade teacher.

Back of the book...  under the flaps on the right is a picture of a dear artistic friend who really encouraged me to start this book. Out of respect to her and her family, I won't be showing you that.

Back of the Folio...

Thanks so much for checking it out! As this was my first try at this, I would love to hear your feedback!
Edited to add ~ all the photos I used are ones I've collected over the last 10 or so years.

So heart-touchingly appropriate, dear friend and so beautifully done.
I'm quite speechless and hugely impressed.
Thank you for your talent and for sharing it.
