Here is my Sept. DIVAs project. I got the idea from a Somerset magazine article and ran with it. The object is to use your security envelope liners to create shapes and textures.
Each of the squares is based on a 6 x 6 canvas background.
Sorry, but these weren't set up right to enlarge, and I don't feel like rewriting all the words!
In this first one, I did a simple background with 1/2 inch strips, all meeting in the center. Then I decided to play with some dies, and this is what I came up with. Other than being slightly off-center, I was happy with it.
The ship was hand cut from a grey/white liner and tinted with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Same for the sun. The whale is clip art. The masts are toothpicks,stained with TH DI.
This was the very first one I made {ocean themed, of course!} ~ the wavy blue liner makes a perfect ocean background! I only wish I'd done the "seaweeds" on the left in black & white rather than grey & white.
My DIVAs friend Debbie did this beauty using TH DI to color the hollycocks reds.
