My colonic adventures...

For my non-medical friends, this may be a bit TMI ~ viewer discretion is advised...

I discovered something new about myself this morning with the colonoscopy... I'm one of those people who has a very sensitive colon! Even after 125 of Demerol and 6 of Versed, IT HURT!!! I was yelling, and several times grabbed at the hands on my stomach, telling them to stop!!! If I ever have to have one again (likely with the 'tics), it will have to be under general anesthesia. He couldn't go as far as he would have liked d/t my pain (he could only do across the transverse; not around the other corner ~
However, the good news is that he found less 'tics than expected, and no other problems. One sm. polyp, which he bxd ~ doesn't think it's a big deal.
The prep itself wasn't so bad (other than the whole "burning butt" thing), but this morning was hell... I woke up at 0330 with N/V (well, dry heaves), severe abd. cramping, and the lovely cold/clammy feeling that comes when you're trying to pass out... WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!
It felt like severe dehydration, but I had pushed fluids like mad last night, so I have no idea what the problem was...

***sigh*** SO glad it's all over...

PS ~ I just found out... it was 175 of Demerol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder I slept the rest of the day!!!

Cottleston Pie is the Taoist philosophy dealing with our Inner Nature (as explained by Winnie-the-Pooh)
To get the full scoop, read "The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff.
