I snail-mailed a deserved apology on 3/23 to a dear friend. Normal mail to this person takes 4-5 days, max.
I have rec’d no response whatsoever from this person. On the 27th, I Emailed her, asking if she had rec’d what I sent. I’ve yet to receive a response.
This leads me to one of these sad conclusions ~
1) USPS lost my card, leading my friend to conclude I have made no effort to apologize, and so she has ignored my Email.
2) My friend did, in fact, receive my apology, but has rejected it. And will not do me the honor of saying so upfront.
3) Well, #3 does not even bear thinking about ~ and it would be a sorry & tragic end to a wonderful friendship.
I am asking the universe for help with this one, because I truly miss my friend who has stood by me through thick and thin. I miss her wisdom, her giggles, her warmth, and her sense of the absurd (so like mine!).
Sending this out ~

Happy Birthday, Big Sister!!
I wish we could have gone to the coast with you!!
Our March is really going out like a lion. Winds today 25-35mph, with spotty sunshine. Ya know, I used to like wind ~ but not here!
Thursday we're meeting with our garden guy to talk about which plants we want taken out (most of the grasses, the oakleaf hydrangeas, and the nasty, evil, wicked thorny (though pretty) climbing roses on the arbor). He'll also be turning on the sprinkler system back on, which means I'll have my basalt fountain to enjoy out the window from ScrapCentral again ~ YAY!!
Scrapwise, I've been playing with some of the older "Love, Elsie" papers and embellies I got for alf of from one of the kit clubs ~ I've been lusting after them for a couple of years now, so I'm really excited to finally play with them.
And I've launched my new ATC swap ~ can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!!

Picture frame...
A picture frame I made for a friend ~ it matches her colors. I didn't add anything real fancy, because she's very much NOT a frou frou person...

Mother Nature...
...seems to be having a bad bout of PMS just now! Volcanoes in AK, earthquake swarms in So. Cal, and the floods in the Dakotas...

AIG...
All those in favor of hanging the AIG pricky-shits up by their balls/boobs (I wouldn't want to be called sexist!), say "Aye".
All those in favor of garnishing those pricky-shit's accounts (retired or not) until they've paid back those bonuses to the American public, say "Aye".
All those in favor of demanding a penny-by-penny account of where ALL these bank bail-outs are going, say "Aye".
Thank you.

Rescue ~
I rescued a human today...
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor
peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need
instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail,
not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.
As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from
a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want
Her to know that I hadn't been walked today.
Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't
want her to think poorly of them. As she read my kennel
card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past.
I only have the future to look forward to and want to
make a difference in someone's life. She got down on her
knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my
shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort
her.
Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for
companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my
paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright
that I instantly jumped into her arms.
I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant
smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor.
So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors.
So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.

Back to work...
So I went back to work on Wednesday, for the first time in over a month. Man, I missed that place!! And I got a wonderfully gratifying 'Welcome Back' from the gang including boss Julie ~ I felt wrapped in a warm fuzzy all day! And it looks like I'll be working more than normal thru this summer ~ one of our eye docs will be running 2 rooms for a while, and I'm going to be doing a lot of filling in for vacations doing PACU... I am SO blessed to have found this job!
My throat was a bit dry all day, but I had expected that. Did a bit of coughing, but nothing desperate, thank the universe!
This crud I've had, and that is going around, is awful because it is lingering for so long. I've talked with people all over the country who have either had it or know someone who has ~ the normal course seems to be about a month, give or take a week. Bleah!
The other thing I've noticed is that no-one's doc seems to know what to call it! Not the flu, because that doesn't seem to have mattered... my doc called it walking PNA & a sinus infection... weird.
My other milestone for today was going back to the gym! I didn't push it; did just one set each of the core/ weight stuff, and only did half my normal time on the treadmill. I wasn't exhausted afterwards, but I was pretty tired. Lo, how the mighty have fallen!!! And they've gained a few pounds, too ~ double Bleah!!!
I'm hoping to get a bit of gardening done this weekend... there is new growth at the base of the snapdragons out back, there are buds on the roses, and the bulb shoots are really visible now!
LOVE ME SOME SPRING!!!!

Cottleston Pie is the Taoist philosophy dealing with our Inner Nature (as explained by Winnie-the-Pooh)
To get the full scoop, read "The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff.
The full poem is at the very bottom here...
