75th D-Day anniversary

My sweet hubby {military brat and officer} and I {military brat and wife} give thought every year on 6/6 to all the soldiers who braved & persevered & gave their lives that day ~ we will never be able to do enough to repay them for what they did. They represent the BEST of America ~ and their work can never be diminished.

But hubby and I have another reason to gently celebrate the day ~ tomorrow will be the 40th anniversary of the day we first met. In comparison, it will never match the tough glory of the original D-Day, but to us, it has it's own significance.

Our marriage, like so many others, has had it's ups and downs ~ but here we are, 40 years later, still together...

To the men of 75 years ago ~ we will always remember ~

To Jimbo ~ No, your radio isn't too loud, and yes, I would like some orange juice.

Congrats on 40 years, bobbie. It has been 44 years for us in August. How the heck did we get this old? lol I am glad to see they still honor D-Day. God bless our veterans -alive and passed. Thank your hubby for me-for his service to the country and for our family. xo Diana

Happy Anniversary! 40 years is a long time, how wonderful. My dad was a tail gunner in WWII. I have nothing but the utmost respect for our servicemen and women. And we just saw a graphic documentary on D-Day...it was hard to watch, so many, many young boys...so brave.
