Sock it To Me!!!
Dick Martin, of Rowan & Martin's "Laugh In" has died. (See article here). I loved, loved, loved that show!! I suspect much of the political stuff went right over my head at the time... but it was 'Laugh In' that changed my ambition in life (if only for a brief time) from being a nurse to being a Go-Go dancer!! I thought those white, vinyl, knee-high boots were to die for!!
And who can ever forget the above -mentioned "Sock it to me"... Flip Wilson's "Here come de judge, here come de judge", "Verrrrrrrry interesting", the Joke wall, or the Flying Fickle Finger of Fate Awards!!!
So ~ does anyone know where I can get a disc set of all the shows???

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
If reading this article doesn't get you REALLY angry, please go have yourself checked for a pulse ~ I suspect they won't find one.
On a happier note, 5 days till Seamus!!!
And then there is this... Yes, I'm positive Speilberg and Lucas purposefully set out to undermine Communism.
What part of FICTION do these people not get???

Seamus pix!!
9 days till we get our baby!!
Below is Seamus (with his mouth open), Hannah, and Mom Maddie ~
Seamus after a hard day playing in the yard!
Seamus Ryan ~ show pose @ 7-8 weeks
We'll be making at least one more trip to PetSmart for toys (I'm hoping for 2!!), and we have to pick him up his dog food. What's really cool is that Jim is ALMOST excited as I am!!!
I've already decided he will have his own album, at least for the first year. And I'm going to make a mini one for Kathy (his breeder) ~ she's been so sweet and patient with all my questions!
And I got my first issue of "The Bark" magazine today ~ a gift from scrappy friend RobinC. Thanks again, Robin!!

a question...
...so what I'd like to know is if she ever actually had cancer... Facts seem to suggest otherwise...

In the garden...
...is where we spent most of yesterday afternoon ~ loved it!! We spent the morning going to our 3 favorite nurseries in town ~ it's always so much fun to walk around them on that first REALLY nice spring day, and see what's new. And everyone else must have felt the same, because every place we went was crowded!!
We brought our haul home, and got to work... first things to get planted were all the blue ceramic pots out front. Pale yellow large marigolds, pink, and white allysum, deep purple lobelia, Mexican feather grass, a variegated vinca trailing vine, godetia, asters, and a gorgeous purple lithodora to replace one of the ground covers that had died. Unfortunately, the beautiful pink geranium we overwintered in the garage took a major hit when we had a low of 25 about 1.5 weeks ago ~ I forgot to bring it in, and all the tender new foliage crisped up and it died. :-((( So we got a new one to replace it. I'll try to remember to post a picture when they've gotten established and have grown a bit. At least the sprig from it I have growing in the kitchen windowsill is doing great!!
For the back, we reserved some of the godetia, allysum and asters; also got 2 spectacular lemon yellow dahlias, a true red geranium (for Jimbo!), and a purple delphinium to replace the liatris that didn't make it thru the winter.
It was a gorgeous day for being outside yesterday ~ little wind, partly cloudy, warm... I was going to do the rest of the planting today, but we were having one of our wild wind days, so there was NO way I wanted to be out in that!! (It was so bad we had to bring in the flags and the rainbow twirler!)
Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so we'll probably get all that done after working out. At least I got some house cleaning done today! (bleah!)
Can you tell spring is my favorite month?!?!?!
18 days till puppy!!! :-)))

So wrong...
This is just SO wrong on SOOO many levels!!!
#1 ~ how the hell did she 'hide' a pregnancy for so long???
#2 ~ why was she so afraid of her mothers reaction? WTF did she think was gonna happen when she finally gave birth?
#3 ~ why the hell was she pregnant in the first place??
Talk about TSTL!!! She can also be labeled 'TSTBC'!!! (bear children)
And anyone want to take any bets as to whether or not the whole family is here legally???
Yeah ~ I'm feeling pretty curmudgeonly... but with cinco de mayo tomorrow, and all the BS that surrounds it, especially in this hellhole enclave of illegals, I have NO tolerance for this kind of crap.
Shit...

A new beginning...
Within 24 hours of Duncan leaving us, we knew we wanted another LH Dachsie ASAP. We knew that whatever dog we got would not be another Dunky, but we both so strongly felt that another dog would help us heal ~
I did a LOT of research; looked at both puppies and at rescue dogs. My two canine~wise friends (the Robins!) gave me much good advice (thanks, ladies!!), so after 2-3 weeks, we found a breeder who had 2 male puppies up for sale.
From left to right, meet Seamus Ryan, Brogan Patrick, and Hannah ~ @ 3 weeks old. Can you tell they were born on St. Patrick's Day?!?! :-)))
Hannah was already spoken for. Briefly, we considered getting both the boyos... but for now we will wait on a second one...
I'd asked the breeder (the wonderful Kathy!) to let us know which one is the bigger lover of the pair... thinking that would be the one for us... but then she emailed us this picture...
...and our heart was lost! This is Seamus Ryan... who could resist that face?!?!?! So we are about 90% sure this is the boyo who will be ours ~
Kathy (from Idaho) will be coming our way at the end of next month on her way to a dog show... she will bring us our baby then.
Is it May 29th yet??? :-)))))))))

Cottleston Pie is the Taoist philosophy dealing with our Inner Nature (as explained by Winnie-the-Pooh)
To get the full scoop, read "The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff.
The full poem is at the very bottom here...
