'tics...

So I dodged a bullet this afternoon... Woke up with SEVERE abd. pain this morning; ended up going to ER. As I suspected, my 'tics are all flared up; the CT scan showed tons of inflammation. But I managed to convince them that I didn't need to be admitted, so after one dose of IV antibiotics, they sent me home. YAY!!!

So, clear liquids only thru the weekend (bleah), oral antibiotics for 10 days ~ yadda, yadda...
I'm just so damn thankful they didn't want me to stay!!!

Feeling selfish & sorry for m'self...

Our niece is getting married in Paris today (5/16), and I'm sitting here in tears...
feeling both selfish and sorry for m'self...

We planned on going, and we were also going to go to Germany after the wedding, so I could revisit where I was born, and where I grew up (something that has been a long time dream of mine)...

Also, since niece's Mom died 2 years ago, I was going to be her 'Mom' for the wedding, as I'm her closest female relative. And she is SUCH a neat kiddo ~ I love her to bits ~

But then the husband mentioned that the trip would eat deeply into our funds to someday move the away from this hellhole we're living in (Yuck-berg).
And I just CAN NOT let go of THAT hope, and dream ~ of getting back to my beloved ocean (if not in CA, then at least in OR)

And so I had to make the choice between a one-time event, and the dream of my life.
Life won.

But right now, I would give my eye-teeth to be standing next to R.

I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me ~ I'm doing enough of that m'self!!!! ~ but I could sure use some cyber hugs...

Fun ATC stuff!

We were wandering through our local Lowe's today, and went by their window coverings area... They have sample cards for different types of woven blinds (mostly 2 samples to a card); $.50 per card. The sample are just the right size for ATCs!! (I will probably cut each sample in half)
They are held on to the card with some hella glue, but with some UnDo and patience, you can get all that off.
I'll post some pix here tomorrow ~

CK for SS...

I got my first issue of CK as a substitute for the late, very much lamented SS today. Yuck. Now I remember why I dropped CK however long ago it was. I've already written them, asking to cancel the sub and refund my $$.

Advice to the powers that be ~ drop CK and bring back SS.

Multiple Sclerosis Walk...

My niece Linda was diagnosed with an aggresive form of MS about 4 months ago. She is 42, and has 3 young kids. She will be walking this Saturday (9th) in the Bozeman, Montana National MS Walk Day. I know things are tough for everyone right now, but if you could, I would sure appreciate it if you would donate even a dollar or two for her ~

RAIN!!!!!!!

Our weather has been absolutely glorious the last 3-4 hours!!! Being as Yuck-berg is high desert, we don't get much lovely rain... most of our 8" of precipitation a year is from snow...

But this evening, we are being blessed some glorious rainfall... and I am soaking it up just like a sponge!!! It's 48* out ~ we have all the windows open (thank heavens for no hellacious winds) ~ and we're both luxuriating in the magical sound of rain on our patio cover!
